Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. RARE as a very first 1963 ORIGINAL pressing on the old maroon color Vanguard label in MONO ...
Prodige of the guitar, student of jazz and Indian music, in 1963 Sandy Bull engraved his first disk, Fantasias For Guitar with the alone accompaniment of the drummer of Ornette Coleman (Billy Higgins). The luxury of the album was "Blend" a suite of twenty-two minutes, allowing each to weave and mix with one another with guitar and percussion. Influenced by the performer of oud Hamza El Din, with which had shared an apartment in 1963 to Hollywood, Blend is a synthesis of improvisations, jazz, raga syncopations, arab accords and folk melodies, a fascinating sonorous excursus that explores fabulous worlds filtered by the sensibility of a popular cantastorie alternating slow and transcendent phases to furious jam. The atmosphere being often psychedelic, two years before the psychedelia was born. Between the other passages of the disk some arrangements of classical music that are distinguished for guitar such as Carmina Burana fantasy.
Sandy Bull was probably the single most original performer of the early 1960s. Alas, he was 30-40 years ahead of the rest of rock music, and therefore was still neglected at the end of the century. While the Merseybeat bands were flooding the charts with idiotic three-minute ditties, Bull was already composing 20-minute long raga/jams that belonged to no known genre. These "blends" marked the first fantastic fusion of eastern and western music, even before western musicians learned what a sitar was.

CONDITION: The cover is solid and strong = been well preserved near "EX" (excellent) = even later sixties issues of this Lp are found with cover soil as to the light grey cover... Here, upper level rarely seen FIRST PRESS! No bends, no split seams, no writing..
The vinyl both sides are all glossy, clean "EX" (excellent) with no more than some nothing audible inner sleeve rubs... expect to play real enjoyable, clean ...and both labels are clean
