BEATLEMANIACS! We purchased a HUGE BEATLES COLLECTION (nearly 1000 items!); we're still plowing through the pile, so add us to your favorite sellers list. Here's today's GEAR listing:
MY BONNIE/THE SAINTS (MGM #13213 1st 1964 pressing w/TITLE SLEEVE):
M- 45 w/CLEAN VG/VG+ TITLE SLEEVE!
M- GEM 1964 1st pressing My Bonnie 45 with glossy vinyl; it's got faint initials on the B-side label (see last photo). It was really hard to get a decent pic of this writing; it's hard to see on the black label. The scarce VG/VG+ title sleeve has no writing, splits, holes, or rips; it presents well for a medium-grade example. It books in the $150-$200 range in M-; until you're ready to spend bigger bucks, this one will hold that spot for you.
My Bonnie was the 1st Beatles single, originally issued by German Polydor as "Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers". The Boys were thrilled to death when the 45 was released in 1961; they were the first Liverpool band to appear on vinyl. After their ascent to the toppermost of the poppermost in 1963-1964, John Lennon described the '61 recording as "terrible!" MGM didn't care about Johnny's opinion; in the Beatle-mad Spring of '64, this single reached #26 on the Hot 100. Historic and valuable 45 and sleeve...
