THIS AUCTION FEATURES ONE OF SEVERAL LP ALUMS I AM SELLING FOR A FRIEND. HE PRIDED HIMSELF IN COLLECTING THE VINTAGE AND SOUGHT-AFTER MUSIC. THE TITLE OF THIS ALBUM IS SIMPLY: "HIT CITY '64 - THE SURFARIS." IT IS SOME OF THE BEST "SURF ROCK" MUSIC EVER PRODUCED.
THIS IS ONE OF THE SURFARIS MORE POPULAR ALBUMS ON THE DECCA RECORD LABEL IN 1964. THE SONGS ARE DEFINITELY VINTAGE SURFING ROCK OF THE 1950's & 60's. THE LEAD SINGER IS NONE OTHER THAN RON WILSON.
THIS ISSUE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE LP COVER HAS NO MAJOR FLAWS - NO TEARS - NO WRITING - NO SEAM RIPS, ETC. THERE IS ONLY A BARE MINIMUM OF ANY ACTUAL AGE WEAR. THE WORST CRITICISM ANYBODY COULD HAVE IS THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER USED A LITTLE WHITE OUT TO NEATLY COVER UP SOME LIGHT SMUDGES. YOU CAN SEE THAT IN THE PHOTOS AS I TOOK CLOSE-UPS TO SHOW HOW MEANINGLESS THAT CRITICISM WOULD BE (AS IT HAS NO DEVALUATION OF THE GRAPHICS OR COVER).
EVEN BETTER, THE VINYL RECORD IS THE REAL PRIZE. IT ACTUALLY LOOKS UNPLAYED AND HAS TO BE CONSIDERED "NEAR MINT." EVEN UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT, I COULD DETECT NO SCRATCHES. I PLAYED BOTH SIDES OF THE VINYL, AND IT PLAYED BEAUTIFULLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SCRATCHING OR BACKGROUND NOISE. IF YOU ENJOY THE MUSIC OF THE SURFARIS OR JUST GREAT VINTAGE "SURFING ROCK MUSIC," YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ALBUM. - SEE PHOTOS.
BOTH LABELS ARE ALSO IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO SIGNS OF AGE WEAR, WRITING, STAINS, ETC. SEE PHOTOS.
