this is an Original STEREO 2nd Pressing released
in the US in 1964 by Capitol Records with # ST 2047
on the cover and # ST-2047 on labels.

the LP has Shiny Clean Vinyl that's been Fully Play Tested
and it Plays with no skips or repeats! see full condition description
below and also see our Multiple Photos for this listing. 
here's the scoop - the very first pressings of this LP were
issued without any publishing credits (BMI / ASCAP) on the labels.
this was likely because the release came before the publishing was  all sorted out. only a very small number of the 1st pressings 
came out, as the credits were quickly added to all of the
subsequent copies pressed by Capitol. 

so this is the 2nd State / 2nd Pressing of 'Meet The Beatles' 
but it's an ORIGINAL 1964 PRESSING and is quite rare as many 
copies of this album went on to sell in the US but copies without the George Martin credit and Gold Record Seal are 
much rarer and far harder to find.

+ has ASCAP / BMI Publishing Credits on Labels +
+ there is NO "Produced by George Martin" Credit on Back Cover +
+ it has the Number "3" to the left of the RIAA Logo on the back cover +
+ has its Original Blue Capitol Inner-Sleeve with Ads for other LPs +
+ has Capitol's IAM Scranton, Pa Stampers in Dead Wax +

this copy was also Pressed at the Scranton, Pennsylvania
plant and has its "IAM" Stampers in the Dead Wax (a Triangle with
the letter I above the letters AM inside).

the above is STAMPED into the Dead Wax and
each side also has Capitol's Scranton, Pennsylvania
pressing plant's IAM stampers which look like this :

~ Condition ~


the LP has Shiny Clean Vinyl that has some visual
wear (scratches and scuffs). the labels are bright and clean with
some rubbing and visible spindle wear around the spindle hole but the
labels have NO writing, stickers or markings and look good!

we grade the LP as a strong G+ / VG- overall

the Entire Album has been Fully Play Tested on our
Vintage AR Turntable and it Plays and Sounds Good with
NO SKIPS OR REPEATS and mostly has just mellow crackle
and soft stray pops here and there, but there are a few spots
that briefly play with soft tics / pops. the album is still
enjoyable to listen to and has such a nice
full loud warm tone overall !

the Cover Displays Well and has NO stickers
or seam splits, but it does have some light visible
corner, edge and ring wear and also has a name written neatly on both the front and back. we'd grade it a solid  VG+ if not for the writing, so overall we grade the cover as
VG as it displays well but does have visible flaws.

all told it's all in really nice
shape for a 50 year old album !

just a few weeks ago was the 50th Anniversary of the
release of this album ! 'Meet the Beatles' changed Everything.
music as we know it would not be the same if not for the release
of this album, as it did everything from influenced hairstyles
and inspired countless people to form bands and play this
new brand of Rock And Roll Music.

because it's such an exceptional and influential album,
it is # 53 on Rolling Stone Magazine's prestigious list of
the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time


Meet the Beatles! is the second Beatles' album released
in the United States. It was the first US Beatles album to be issued by 
Capitol Records on 20 January 1964 in both mono and stereo formats.
It topped the popular album chart on 15 February 1964 and remained at
number one for an impressive eleven weeks before being replaced by 
The Beatles' Second Album, the first time that an artist
replaced itself at the peak album position.

The cover featured Robert Freeman's portrait used for the
UK With the Beatles release, with a blue tint added to the original
stark black-and-white photograph.
