Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.   MONO SOUND PRODUCTION = 1966 ORIGINAL first pressing   One of the best live acts in the '60s German beat-rocking "Hamburg" scene where the Beatles got their start were the mighty Rattles who had a great stage presentation to the point where one could easily be surprised that they did not make it big.   By any standard, 1966's "Rattles Greatest Hits New Recording" served as a strange career retrospective. Ranging in chronology from 1963's 'Shimmy Shimmy' to 1966's 'Come On and Sing', eleven of the twelve tracks were comprised of alternate versions of 'A', & 'B' 45's. Led by bassist Herbert Hilderbrandt and lead guitarist Achim Reichel were singer/guitarist Hermann "Rugy" Rugenstein and drummer Reinhard "Dicky" Tarrach. While the performances were all professional, and a couple of the versions injected a tougher edge to the songs ('Shame Shame Shame'). In some cases it is hard to even tell the differences. Highlights include: 'La La La' a nice slice of German rock with Achim Reichel turning in a crushing lead guitar. 'Shimmy Shimmy' is very garage band-ish. There aren't a lot of German beat bands that managed to turn in credible covers of American R&B standards. 'Shame Shame Shame' is one of those rare exceptions. Nice version. Elsewhere, 'Everybody Loves a Lover' sports one of Reichel's best solos and 'Come On and Sing' finds the band taking a distinctive turn towards a commercial effort. The song certainly rocks-out and was clearly written with an ear to success. That's not a criticism since it makes for one of the Lp's standout performances.
