1966 Sam Phillips 45 Acetate Jimmy Day & The Knights
I recently obtained a vintage 45 record collection from a local Va estate. The records appear to have come from a radio station as many were promotional copies during the late 1960,s. I priced most an have them for sale locally. I was surprised to find a Sam Phillips acetate in the mix.. It is dated 1966 and the group was Jimmy Day & The Knights.. The songs are These Windows & Stormy Monday.. I reseacrhed briefly and found only one mention of this group playing with a another group called The Jesters.. About this time frame.. I was leery about playing it, but did and its definately soul.. Stormy Monday is a bluesy soul.. Only slight background noise.. Great tunes.. The overall condition is good.. As you can see in the photos one label is good and the other is about gone.. Nice luster and plays fine.. I have no idea of value, as Ive actually never seen one of these acetates before.
