Sylvia Telles – “Sings the Wonderful Songs of Antonio Telles Jobim” (Kapp 1451). Great 1966 LP by Brazilian singer Telles, perhaps the most talented Brazilian vocalist during the 1950s and '60s, Telles preceded the advent of the bossa nova era but quickly became one of its biggest fans, debuting in 1955 and recording her first song by Jobim one year later. Telles had just recorded her second tribute to Jobim, 1966's The Music of Mr. Jobim (or Sings the Wonderful Songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim), when she was tragically killed in a car accident. Cuts include: “And Roses And Roses”; “Useless Landscape”; “Samba Torto”; “All That's Left Is To Say Good-Bye”; “Bonita”; “One Note Samba”; “Quiet Nights”; “How Insensitive”; “Dreamer”; “Eu Preciso De Voce”; “Dindi”; and “Once I Loved.” Record is in VG condition and cover is in M- condition (shrink wrap.) Postage will be paid by purchaser.
