Description
This auction is for the very rare and sought after record album by The Beatles called “Yesterday and Today” and THIS version is the “3rd state” - Butcher cover. This “3rd state” version features the “butcher cover", the previously affixed “trunk” cover paste-over having been removed from the album jacket to reveal the butcher cover underneath. This is the MONO version. You will NOT be getting it in the frame (too heavy). I will REMOVE IT FROM THE FRAME and ship it with utmost protection.
The record IS included as well as the ORIGINAL 1966 Capitol Records inner sleeve (see all of the images).
Within days of the releasing of this album Capitol recalled all copies in response to retailers’ negative reactions to the original macabre cover image. The recalled copies were “retrofitted” with a new pictorial flat, pasted over the first featuring an innocuous image of the boys posed around a steamer trunk. There was a letter sent out by Capitol Records to all of the record dealers explaining the situation and I will be INCLUDING a COPY of that original letter dated June 14, 1966.
ALSO included will be a mint SET OF FOUR (4) Richard Avedon Beatles psychedelic posters. These are reproductions of the originals sold through LOOK MAGAZINE in 1968. The color and clarity is quite bold and they are printed on card stock quality paper measuring approximately 11" by 14". These 4 posters are included FREE with the purchase of the Butcher Album.
And finally, ALSO included is a Yesterday and Today Promotional Poster. Not sure of its origin but it's simply a COPY and not an original - if there ever was such a promo poster. It's cool though.
I will ship everything in strong cardboard via Priority Mail with plenty of insurance along with Delivery Confirmation. The frame is not included. Thank you for your consideration.
