1967 ORIGINAL  first pressing... reverbertating Electric Prunes featuring "I Had Too Much To Dream" and "Get Me To The World On Time" ...and that is only the start to this legendary fuzz-flashing classic ... 

Would you believe The Electric Prunes? Most people didn’t. The way-out name turned most people off until The Prunes’ way-out sound turned them on! With all sorts of custom-built gadgets, the five guys with the weird name came up with grooviest vibrato sound this side of Sun-sweet!
Jim Lowe - who sings lead, plays autoharp and doodles on the harmonica & sound effects - lived in Los Angeles until he was 17. Then he took off for Hawaii and later, Japan. Getting back to Hollywood, where he decided to form The Electric Prunes. Weasel, the rhythm guitarist, started playing guitar in the early 60's. He fooled around with a couple of bands, but didn’t become serious until he met Jim in Hawaii. "Nothing very exiting happens to me," says Quent of the Prunes, "unless it’s when I’m playing drums." Quent is a wanderer - the Prunes had to search all over Mexico to get him to join the group as drummer. Lead guitarist Ken Williams is a native Californian, whose father gave him a guitar on his twelfth birthday. By the time he was 16, his musical services were in great demand. He was looking for a blues band when he found the Prunes. Mark Tulin was happy to switch from guitar and organ to bass for the Prunes. His interest and knowledge of music lends itself to almost every instrument the Prunes could come up with....Released in 1967, the Prunes' first album features the only two of the group's songs that anybody in their right mind would remember: The "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night" is a masterpiece of ultra-catchy psyhedelic rock, a mindwarped concoction of warbling guitars, spacey rhythms, and wistful vocals. "Get Me To The World On Time," meanwhile, marries the former song's psych-pop craftsmanship with a thumping Bo Diddley beat and some warbling guitars. They're not the only good tracks here, either: "Are You Loving Me More (But Enjoying It Less)" and ""Try Me On For Size" are outta-site garage/psych rockers, the latter featuring a really crunchy, cool sounding guitar. "Luvin'" is a fun blues-rocker, and "Onie" is a marvelously pretty ballad. The first half of "Train For Tomorrow" is a spooky, smokey psychedelic onfection with a genuinly atmospheric feel. The second half, is an ultra-groovy layers of jazzy rock. "Bangles" is another surprisingly good tune, with its gentle sarcasm and sound-effects-laden guitars. Really not a bad track in the batch once you've injested, they all sort of cling on to your head ...

CONDITION: The cover: is solid M- top clean...collection keeper looks... with no split seams, no bends, no writing and bright original colors ...nice

The Vinyl:  is all VERY glossy would be M- BUT... and without (no) scuffs or no marks, we grade at VG+ because of the hazy aged appearance on vinyl, typical of many steamboat Reprise pressings from the mid 60's ...as a result plays with a wee bit of surface only -- again otherwise is (M-) CLEAN with no marks ...

both steamboat Reprise labels are both very clean....
