Now you can own a super rare vintage 1967 "Souvenir Edition" of a rare "Battle Of the Bands" Contest featuring "28 or 29" various unknown "Garage Bands" from the mid-1960's....This rare "Three Record" set was released on the little known "Normandy" Record label in 1967 or 1968....Normandy Records 30867 Stereo....I believe this "Live" album was never released commercially and could only be available to those in the audience......This rare set was recorded live at the 1967 "National Finals" at Ridge Arena, Braintree, Mass on August 17th, 18th and 19th....This rare set of three records includes pretty clean front and back covers, with a clean printed spine.....Cover has about a 3-inch split seam in the upper right corner area while about 2/3 of the bottom seam is split.....Album cover says this is a "2-Record" set but there is a third album included, which is marked as record two on the label.....All of these album releases were pressed on the thickest vinyl ever (about twice as thick as needed), and are heavier than an acetate....Record one includes 12 "Unknown" Garage bands, and songs are shown with the white background from the back of the album cover....The second record is not listed on the back cover, so is pictured by the red label only and includes 13 other "Garage" bands....They all do "Cover Songs" that were popular at the time...The third record which is suppose to be record two (According to the back cover) is actually record three and features the 2nd and 3rd place finalists on one side and the winners of this contest "The Gents" do six songs on the other side....Records are all super clean and look like they might have been played once or twice if played at all, but all vinyl is still super clean and shiny, but I did not play them, and is visual grading only....But this still is still a very rare "Battle Of The Bands" Three-Record Set and still well worth the price !!!!!!!!....I will try to mail multiple buys together, so be sure and check out the other rare "Import and Promo" Albums that I have for sale !!!!
