Some great 60s/70s vinyl this week. we combine shipping to save you money.
1967 UK Parlophone Stereo PCS 7017 Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers Killer R&B with that Mod beat and sax from this great blue eyed soul singer. No less than Paul McCartney produced this, having very high regard for the cover of his tune here. Fantastic audio to this barely played first pressing. If the high bidder prefers the 1st stereo pressing, I can replace this with that, I am happy with either, as they both sound great.
AllMusic Review by Bruce Eder:
The third album by Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers followed the tried-and-true formula of its two predecessors, with superior results. Bennett's cover of the Beatles' "Gotto Get You Into My Life" was a popular single in its own right, and with that number as the jump-off point for the long-player, the group produced a superb album around it, filled with nothing but highlights -- Bennett was in top form covering Sam & Dave and Wilson Pickett numbers, as well as one fine original ("Baby Each Day"), and this record contained some of the best blue-eyed soul coming out of England at the time. Indeed, his renditions of "Barefootin'" and "Ain't Love Good Ain't Love Proud" hold up as well in 2007 as they did in 1967. Sad to say, Got to Get You Into Our Life was also the swan song for the Rebel Rousers, who subsequently parted company with Bennett.
No visual marks, no playback issues, no damage to the sleeve (save for a light corner bend) very few spindle marks to labels, spine not squashed as these sometimes are. You are getting a properly near mint superb quality 60s original EMI Pressed Parlophone mono vinyl here, bid strong for the real thing.
When we post this to you, it will be housed in a new hard card custom made new box.
