Description
Here is a beautiful original copy of THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO (1967 VERVE V6-5008, Stereo) with the airbrushed Torso back cover in excellent clean condition. This amazing record has been a treasured part of my personal collection for at least the last 20 years, played once at the most (by me) and always safely stored in a plastic outer sleeve in an upright position. After a brief description, I will conservatively grade the album based on Goldmine standards.
The vinyl itself looks almost near mint with the nice, original sheen and only a couple very light surface marks which do not affect the play at all. This record is super clean and plays wonderfully (I checked it on my Technics SL-5100 turntable with a SURE M111HE cartridge). The label is clean and bright and the spindle hole shows no signs of wear. You can tell with one look that this record has rarely been played.
The gatefold cover is clean and crisp with no splits and only some light wear marks on the photo side. The "banana side" is clean and the banana is UNPEELED, although the very tip of the banana stem was picked at at some point (see pix). The spine is beautiful, crisp and tight with no tearing or even any wear to speak of. Inside is extremely clean as well with the exception of the previous owner's name (Randall) in the top left corner near Mo Tucker's picture.
