The GREENVALE LADIES TRIO was organized in 1963. The name was derived from their being members of Greenvale Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee, located midway between Kingsport and Johnson City. The group is composed of Dot and Judy Sproles, who are mother and daughter, and Shirley Dotson, a long-time friend. Each lady is blessed with a voice that easily blends in har- mony together and is equally outstanding when doing a solo part. Judy - as you will notice on the title song "OH COME, ANGEL BAND" - has a most unusual voice to be a young teen-age lady. Her charming personality equals her powerful voice, and it will thrill your heart as you listen. Dot does the solo on "WHEN THE SUN SETS OVER JORDAN". Your heart will overflow within you as you listen to the sincerity conveyed as she sings. Shirley renders an outstanding performance on "JESUS SIGNED MY PARDON", a favorite of many years, and you will undoubtedly listen quietly until it is ended. Most of this trio’s singing is done in traveling with the Sproles Family. Dot and Judy are the wife and daughter of Rev. Tom Sproles, who is pastor of their church.
