Description
This is a great and i would imagine quite rare item from 1968 , the Beatles fan club christmas flexidisc record (33 1/3 rpm).
On the back of the sleeve it says it was recorded in nov 1968 in the lush london homes of beatle john & beatle paul and in the back of beatle ringos diesel powered removal van somewhere in surrey , goes on to say more about george and material recorded during the rehersal sessions for the album SET.
The beatles sixth christmas record.
Lovely pop art picture sleeve and with the superpix sales insert which is fab and very original , also with it is the original brown envelope that it was posted in with a postmark for 3rd jan 69 so it was obviously late being sent out that year.
Hand written address on the front for :-
Miss M Tibbatts , 111 Harewood Court , Upper Richmond Rd , SW15 (stamped on the front in red records do not bend) , also written on the front in pencil are the words jay-haven't heard this yet , any interest for wed ? rita.
Condition of the sleeve is i would say as good as the day it was posted with no tears or marks , the record is also in good condition with no kinks , few very faint surface scratches , the black colour of the vinyl goes patchy when moved in the light but i think all flexidiscs are like that , the superpix sales insert is also in lovely undamaged condition with no tears or folds.
The brown envelope is a bit grubby and shabby down one edge but it has served its purpose by protecting the record sleeve and contents and i guess most of the original envelopes were just thrown away so its a bonus i guess to still have it with the record.
I haven't played it to see what it sounds like so i can't say how it will sound.
A genuine Beatles fan club record now in need of a new home , listed with no reserve.
