In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE advanced release PROMOTIONAL....Original 1968 first pressing (PROMO), a GREAT West Coast psychedelic rock artifact on the obscure 'Shamley' label gets the top rating in the collectors fields of dreams...
This was one of Merrell Fankhauser bands throughout the mid to late 60’s and early 70’s. "Things" was released in 1968, sandwiched in between Fankhauser’s Fapardokly and Mu albums. Things is a bona fide masterpiece of 60’s sounds, coming across like a meeting between Buffalo Springfield, Spirit, the Byrds and Cream.
This album is much more psych minded than 1966’s folk-rock inclined Fapardokly too. A Visit With Ashiya is possibly Fankhauser at his most psychedelic, awashed with stoned vocals and walls of sitar. It’s also one of the album’s centerpieces and a raga rock killer that ends with some thick fuzztones. Things has a handful of tuneful, melodic folk-rockers that hark back to earlier times. Ice Cube Island is one of the best of these folk-rockers, being so blissed out and eretheral. It’s an excellent example of acid folk-rock. Other songs like Madame Silky, What Does He See In You and Rich Man’s Fable work really well too and are characterized by paranoid vocals and liquidy fuzz guitar leads. For most listeners though, the highlight of this album is Your Painted Lives. It’s one of those incredible 60’s songs, an early foray into rural psych that chugs along with echoed vocals and once again, hard fuzz guitar riffs.
Things is delicate and raunchy all at once and a great, American underground rock record and deserves a special place among the best psychedelic 60’s albums

CONDITION: The Cover: solid all over, VG++ has some light shelf wear starting, it's not bad at all (see photo), very light dings on corner tips. That's about all, still a solid collection keeper with no real need to upgrade...has a small company promo sticker on back ... no split seams, no no writing, no fading colors
The Vinyl: glossy on both sides, VG++ (couple or so light hairlines) play graded "EX" (excellent) and both Shamley labels are clean
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
