PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! RARE!!! Original 1968 first press housed in an elaborate multi-fold out poster like sleeve ... this was the change-over album for the Rattles. The Rattles being one of, if not thee, main offering in popularity when talking beat-rock from the European sixties, which was basically the USA 'garage band' equivalent... The Rattle built a strong and loyal fan base no doubt with the fact they supported the BEATLES on many performances. As a result the band managed some 7 Lp's in the beatrock genre between 1963 - 1967. A band shake occurred when main figurehead, the legendary Achim Reichel was enlisted in the military. Progressive / Krautrock fans will know of him from his famous Lp releases in the early '70s. Without Achim Reichel the band changed direction into the style of the ever-popular pop-sike song craft perfection which was spinning the London Underground at the time led by the Beatles and bands like the Move, Idle Race, etc. etc. The overall sound was a far cry from the beatrock raves of the bands past.
The Rattles "Production" released July 23, 1968 ...Producer & group member : H. Hildebrandt, who was involved with Achim Reichel in the famous progressive Lp releases. Also noted Hildebrandt (if not Achim Reichel as well) was involved in the decidedly "killer" "BOKAJ RETSEIM" effort, issuing the collector praised "Psychedelic Underground" LP ...
IN THE BEGINNING ....Hamburg teenagers Achim Reichel (guitar/vocals), guitarist Hajo Kreuzfeld , Herbert Hildebrandt ( bass/vocals) and Reinhard Tarrach (drums) modeled their group on the British beat image in the early sixties
Among their one of first recordings was a version of "The Hippy Hippy Shake", and they often shared bills with Tony Sheridan, Cliff Bennett, the Beatles and Kingsize Taylor. Later, morale was boosted by a successful fortnight’s residency in Liverpool’s The Cavern club, and appearances on UK television.
When, in 1966, Achim Reichel had to join the army, the band’s line-up changed permanently, with the addition of singer Frank Dostal and Bernd Schulz on keyboards. The new line-up comprised; Edna Bejerano, Frank Mille (guitar), Kurt ‘Zappo’ Luengen (bass) and Herbert Bornholdt (drums). In 1970 "The Witch", a 1969 single b-side to "Geraldine", charted. The re-recorded version became a hit in the UK and made the Top 10. The Rattles also became the first German band to enter the US Hot 100.
"The Witch" eventually sold over one million copies. The band, however, were unable to secure a lasting place in foreign hearts, and soon returned to the German orbit of engagements where they are remembered as one of the leading beat groups of the era.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG++ slight contact rub started on the outside of the elaborate poster-style multi foldout custom cover. The main insides to the poster foldout cover rated M- ... Collection worthy aside, there are no delete marks, no split seams, and no writing ... VERY scarce rarity from 1968...
The vinyl: Rated: "EX" (excellent) nothing more than maybe little hard to see inner paper sleeve scuffs, not even pronounced, the record is expected to preform with very enjoyable CLEAN audio ... both FONTANA labels are clean
