************************************************************ This experimental rock band was formed in 1967 and led by Joseph Byrd, an avant-garde composer and musicologist, and vocalist Dorothy Moskowitz. Their music incorporated a unique blend of psychedelic rock, electronic music, and avant-garde influences.
The band's only studio album, "The United States of America," was released in 1968 and has since become a cult classic. The album is notable for its innovative use of electronic instrumentation, tape manipulation, and unconventional song structures. Some of the standout tracks from the album include "The American Metaphysical Circus," "Garden of Earthly Delights," and "Hard Coming Love."
Although the band disbanded shortly after the release of the album, their unique and groundbreaking approach to music has influenced a wide range of artists and genres, including progressive rock, experimental music, and electronica.
