Description
By far I'm not a record grader but I will be as honest as I can be in describing this record to the best of my ability. I am going to sell(part) for the first time ,which is hard for me to part with but is my listener copy of this is my personal copy of Pink Floyds second record ever . This is the UK version of A Saucerful of Secrets which is the first ever mono pressing. This is the one that you want to have for the true Pink Floyd fan. This is a 1968 earliest first UK mono pressing- Flipback Mono Sleeve with "File under Popular- Pop Groups" This is the ***first UK pressing of the Saucerful of Secrets by Pink Floyd. I have play tested this record dozens and dozens of times on my old school record player. Meticulously I clean it and enjoy this record for month after month I feel it's time for somebody else to enjoy it like I first did . I do know that it is the original pressing and it is stamped in the dead wax in that shiny part: XAX-3633 on side #1 and on side #2 is stamped: XAX-3634 - 1. I took a picture of this record in the sunshine and you can see in the pictures that it has very good colorful "(multicolored prismatic Sheen) .I tried to take a picture of it and one of these pictures. Okay the only really issue on this record is maybe the cover. It has a couple of tears or rips as you can see in the pictures as part of the listing description. The creases and rips and one small tear is is why I did not grade this cover as a GOOD+ so it's just rated as I feel a "GOOD-" I mean this is the original cover and they came from halfway around the world and it's over 60 years old now the record does have a couple of marks visibly on the record which if you look hard enough in these pictures you may be able to tell her I'll try to take good pictures out of the sunshine so you could see what you were buying this is an actual record that you will be receiving. The visible marks/scratches are NOT , I repeat "NOT"that deep that affects the playing of the voices and the words or interferes with the enjoyment of this music. The song called See Saw on dide #2 only what i call a "quick jump" on Syds voice as he is singing. you can still hear his complete words as he quimsly sings his nursery poetic lyrics and this record only crackles which has no jumps or pops or skips same way with side B only it has a few miles faint dust crackles which is very enjoyable to listen to for a sixty-year-old old record the dust crackles may clean up if properly cleaned I try to clean it each time I listened to it .Also this records is very enjoyable . It does not Skip it just has some clicks or crackles which does not interfere with the music or the instruments. Earliest Garrod & Lofthouse Patent Pending Flipback Mono Sleeve has some normal 50+ year wear, Front and Back are flat and clean. Front still has some gloss with only light rubbing near edges, there are a few small thumbnail creases near opening some tiny creases from edges and a crease near top right and small crease near bottom right, Corners have some wear. Top and Bottom Edges have no wear, Opening edge has wear/feathering, Spine is solid and fully readable with creases running through, The back is still pretty black with hardly any rubbing, flipbacks have a few creases running through. 'File Under Popular – Pop Groups' In top right corner, a small name in pen on back....A Really Nice example of this rare sleeve that is very flimsy. See Photos
