Description
Here is a vintage album from my collection offered up for sale: Janis Joplin with Big Brother & the Holding Company, their second album "Cheap Thrills", this is an original 1st pressing released in 1968 by Columbia Records KCS 9700 Stereo, has the "two-eye" style labels, Robert Crumb artwork on gatefold cover and Janis on the back, live photo of the band on inner gatefold. This album features awesome performances by Janis with great backing band led by Sam Andrews, has songs "Summertime", "Ball and Chain," "Piece of My Heart", "Turtle Blues", "I Need a Man to Love" and more, GREAT album!
The vinyl grades VG, is clean and glossy, has several light marks and a few small more moderate ones, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays very good from start to finish, with some very light background pops and some more moderate pops at the end of side two, no skips or jumps and an enjoyable listen!
The cover rates EX, is super clean, front artwork has deep color with no ring wear, seams excellent and binder EX & readable, no seam splits, no tape, inside gatefold had small tear at center neatly re-glued (barely noticeable), looks minimally handled, has been very well cared for! The inner sleeve has center splits neatly taped. (see all photos)
Will be shipped in a .3 ml plastic sleeve in a record box with tracking. Vinyl will be shipped in a "throw away" paper sleeve outside the cover to prevent splits.
