I am listing a small selection of exceptional Japanese and other audiophile pressings over the next few weeks to compliment the sealed new old stock best pressings from a back room stock bought long ago, also slowly being added in my ebay store. Beethoven named sonatas from the lion of the Piano, Wilhelm Backhaus. There is no one SXL that has the 3 named sonatas on it, but this was of course issued to commemorate his passing, King Records Japan appearing to be the first to issue the three great sonatas for the occasion, from the Decca master tapes. Stylish gold deep grooved ffss labels, and a gold sleeve with a portrait rear and a Beethoven statue front, with other pics in the booklet of the Pianist again plus the piano in the Beethoven Haus in Bonn, the site of a pilgrimage I made myself 20 years ago. Near Mint vinyl that appears to have only been barely played apart from by me for the play grade, as can easily be the case with broad and deep collections, despite this being 52 years old. This lovely sounding vintage Japanese pressing has the OBI sash and that valve cut sound is all there in a well placed soundstage and gorgeous piano tone. We in the west were taking hardly any notice of options to upgrade sound quality in 1969, but Japanese listeners are the pioneers of audiophilia, being the first to return to valve amps, and producing some amazing equipment as well as buying up the best older examples from the west. Sleeve has no pen or splits, creases or bends. Our ethos is to offer you best sounding analogue only pressings of vintage records. Here is another beauty of that type. We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e £1 extra per lp to a maximum of £15, then no extra charge. We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
