We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. V. Rare and highly collectible LP - for goood reason, for here is a TOP COPY of the very first '69 "ALPS" Lp -- featuring the compelling, if not, tripped-out vocal antics of Catherine Ribeiro!
Led by Patrice Moullet, the underground psychedelic-progressive band "ALPES" was founded in 1970 with Catherine Ribeiro as the lead singer. A very original band, highly prolific in the late '60s / early 70's - they made at least 5 important albums.
Their music is rather experimental and hard to define and involves underground rock, psychedelic, progressive and flipped-out improvisations. Patrice Moullet is the inventor of several musical instruments among which include the "Cosmophone" and the "Percuphone".
Catherine Ribeiro's low voice tone may also evoke Nico at times and is further theatrical and declamatory in often off the edges acid-tones - meaning often intense dramatic tension in the singing. This first LP "Catherine Ribeiero & Alps + 2BIS" is of their best.
It's not only RIBEIRO's vocal antics that stand out and demand the listener's attention. The otherworldly sounds of Patrice Moullet's homemade instruments are equally wild. While RIBEIRO handles all lyrics and vocals throughout the band's existence, it was Moullet who wrote all the music and invented several instruments such as the percuphone, cosmophone and orgolia that give this music the most unique and unparalleled sound in the progressive music scene. This one / two punch guarantees the listener will be taken somewhere they never knew existed: a strange new world where the psychedelic and avant-folk meet in the lysergic renegade poetic wilderness. Along with the experimental instrumentation and larger than life vocal contributions, the album is also filled with all kinds of psychedelic techniques much used by other acts of the era including back-masking, tribal drumming and hypnotic folk guitar sequences. Some of the tracks are sweet and sensual and others come completely unhinged however the music always remains in a rhythmic harmony of some sort while RIBEIRO herself is the one who dishes out the bouts with chaos and mental instability. CATHERINE RIBEIRO + 2 BIS is a very interesting late 60s release that showed all of the band's strengths from the beginning, however they were just getting started and as good as this debut album is, it's not as well accomplished as some of the albums to come. Album number one is certainly an entertaining musical trip that not only delivered ample amounts of originality but managed to boil the avant-garde ingredients into a digestible stew that sounds like a completely mature product.

CONDITION: The cover: Rated: M- top copy! THICK heavy gauge cardboard with textured/grainy superior cover over the French issue. Flat, square, 4 sharp corners. Has a delete drill at top right as it flew right over the heads of the masses whom even if they heard (doubtful) was too far out (in a good way.) Anyway, the seams are solid, no seam splits, no faded colors, no bends, no writing ...
The vinyl: Rated: near M- thick inflexible heavy gauge vinyl, in top shape. Overall full of bright shine and overall played very enjoyable here - and should for you as well. Both SELECT RECORDS labels are clean = no writing or dirt/soil
