“Issued as part of Aspen Magazine No. 7, these recordings were made on a portable cassette recorder at Queen Charlotte’s Maternity Hospital in London as Yoko was expecting their first child and the pregnancy was not going well.

Aspen Magazine was the brainchild of Phyllis Johnson, a former editor of Women’s wear Daily and Advertising Age. Johnson got the idea to publish a multimedia magazine while on holiday in Aspen, Colorado. Each issue would employ a different designer on order to capture a certain period, point of view, or person. Abandoning the traditional magazine format, which Johnson thought too restrictive, Aspen would consist of a variety of communication media, including print, film, and sound recordings.
Aspen Magazine was first published in 1965. 10 issues were created at irregular periods and due to difficulty securing advertising and increased postal costs for the unusual format, the final issue was published in 1971.
I am the original owner and these are in excellent like new condition(some yellowing of the folders due to age--mouse over images) and have been carefully stored in a smoke free climate controlled environment.
