Lots of nice Beatles added weekly these days, add me to your favourites. 1970 Nigerian EMI Pressing of the Paul McCartney Debut Lp PCS 7102 in overall Excellent condition. See the label close up for the variant markings. The sleeve and inner are supplied from the Uk for this to that market. The inner has an advert for this exact album, sensibly using the rear sleeve pic, one of the greatest of all sleeve rear photos with the baby head popping out of his jacket so adorably. I note someone has the Turkish pressing of this on discogs for £750, so it is not unreasonable I would suggest to list a no other copies on offer anywhere, never on popsike, similarly exotic example such as this at a £69 Buy It Now. The other thing to note, as someone who has bought records in West Africa and collected West African music for 30 years is that 99 times out of 100, second hand African lps are battered. Most of the exceptions are those sent over here as imports from new. Obviously this was unnecessary with this, as we had plenty of our own here back then. This came out over there for that small market of people interested in English pop, in a year when the Beatles were rapidly falling out of fashion. I cannot imagine it was a big seller. This ones solo career had barely taken off, as my brother tells me, the gig in 1970 at Birmingham University Student Union was not a sell out. I hope a few completists take an interest in this, as it really does not appear to come on the open market very often by the look of things. Sleeve has a little non sticky remnant of white sticker on the corner over the laminate, which bubbles at that point, as shown. No other big faults, the labels are clean the record is flat, there are no feelable marks and it plays well. Will be packed carefully.
