PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Lavish gatefold sleeve... this is the (rare) 1970 German first printing with A-1 / B-2 machine stamped matrix...
THE RATTLES were a huge beat garage band who excelled in the Hamburg German strip-club scene in the early-mid '60s. So popular they were on the same bill with The Beatles and managed a successful career in Europe issuing several collectible 45's and Lp's. The Rattles were led by guitarist Achim Reichel who went on to grow his hair long and freak-out within the "Krautrock" world, first hashing out the remarkable BOKAJ RETSEIM "Psychedelic Underground" before coming to Krautrock fame with his Achim Reichel And Machines group.
However, as Achim left the popular RATTLES band, they carried on employing a female vocalist not far removed from Mariska Veres of the Shocking Blue. This RATTLES band was no longer the beat-rock band but had progressed into pioneering stages of the Krautrock sound and actually similar to the Shocking Blue sound. The Rattles of 1970 scored the biggest hit of the '60s or '70s band's entire career with "The Witch." A riveting slice of timeless heavy rock psych featuring a heady infectious sound pumping with adrenaline... The universal hit got the band an LP contract with Philips who released the LP featured in this listing, "THE WITCH" ... the 'fan-man' unfolds further insight:
"Boy, did I not see this coming. Somewhere in my music infested brain, I remember being introduced to "The Witch" by some freaky forgotten friend from times gone by. I have no knowledge of the band's other work, but I gotta say, this is one cool little platter, balancing hard, charging tracks with some psych and the odd placement of string arrangements. "Virgin" is phenomenal, as is "Guy" and the aforementioned "The Witch". "Man" even adds some flute touches to it's heavy blues structure. Really, really good album."
