We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Following the break-up of The Yardbirds in early 1968 drummer Jim McCarty and guitarist/vocalist Keith Relf formed

Together

, an acoustic based group.

Renaissance formed in later 1968 and has a significant contribution in laying a strong foundation of progressive rock music with the likes of fellow minded groups fresh on the scene - King Crimson, ELP, Yes, Genesis and Pink Floyd.

Renaissance had its own identity different from the others. Their first album set an important milestone within the rock music future.

Jane Relf's vocals are not really always in the foreground and the other musicians also sing on this album. The lead & backing vocals are interesting though. This record is definitely keyboard oriented: when there is piano or harpsichord passages the album sounds quite classical baroque. On side one it is a bit strange to hear an outstanding first baroque part, followed by a rhythmic keyboard rock ballad and finally finished with a minimalist psychedelic passage. For sure, the album, like their next one, has some psychedelic influences. The best moment is definitely the progressive part on Innocence: very structured and adventurous for 1970, as the record is really avant-garde and ahead of its time!
