1971 Agostinho Dos Santos Brazilian LP (Agostinho Dos Santos)
Agostinho Dos Santos – “Same” (Latino SOLP 65014). Excellent 1971 LP by the Brazilian singer and composer active from the early 1950s until his premature death in an airplane accident in 1973. Dos Santos is best known today for lending his voice to the soundtrack of the classic 1959 film Orfeu Negro. He is also credited with playing a role in the development of the careers of other important Bossa Nova artists, such as João Gilberto and Milton Nascimento. This LP features 12 cuts, including “Aquarela Do Brasil” / “Na Baixa Do Sapateiro”; “Hava Nagila”; “Saint Louis Blues”; “O Sole Mio”; “Quiereme Mucho”; “Pot Pouri (“Un Jour Tu Verrás”/ “Hymne A L'Amour”; “Douce France”)”; “Samba Do Orfeu”; “Night And Day”; “A Felicidade”; “Besame Mucho”; “Sá Marina”; and “Manhã De Carnaval.” Made in Brazil. Record is in VG+ condition and cover is in strong VG condition . Postage will be paid by purchaser.
