PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE German 1971 original in laminated single-sleeve ... one of Golden Earring's BEST and rarest Lp's, filled with solid tracks & performances up & down both sides ... should appeal to underground rock fans...
Along with Wall Of Dolls, Seven Tears is probably their most progressive albums. The classic quartet is at the top of its form and Barry Hay's songwriting (along with guitarist Kooymans) is also enhanced by his increasingly excellent voice and whirling flute playing. He also dabbles into acoustic guitars and sax playing. The title cites seven tears for seven tracks, this is their third "modern-era" album and seventh overall (in 1971.) Overall a completely solid effort and one of their stronger Lp's, due to the fact that Golden Earring has that essential touch of dramatics and urgency lacking many of their Dutch compatriots, such as Earth & Fire.
Along the album, some of the most dramatic tracks are the superb "Silver Ships", the spine-chilling "Hope" (Van der Graaf Generator edge), the ultra-classic (and long-time crowd favourite) "She Flies On Strange Wings" and the wild "You're Better Off Free" with a killer guitar showcase. Overall the brilliant songwriting and dramatic effects and plenty of instrumental interplay make the full success of the album. Even the shorter tracks like "Don't Worry" holds plenty of energy (Rinus' bass is over-the-top, but man is that unusual sound with his Danelectro guitar.) Overall the longer track are the essence of this album
