PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Even if you're an ardent fan of heavy psych rock, chances are you haven't heard of Blackfeather. Considering they only put out a single complete album way back in '71 however, you can feel rest assured they haven't been a gaping hole in your musical knowledge 'til now. Blackfeather were essentially Australia's response to the British burst of fuzz-tinged psychedelic blues (ala BUFFALO) that saturated the progressive scene from 1970-71. This was a fairly integral stage in rock history; it opened the gates for progressive rock and heavy rock alike.
At the Mountains of Madness is rounded off with a fourteen minute suite ("The Rat"), and the album even came with a proper intro track-- a common thing today, not so much back then. Even two of the regular songs in the middle are listed as parts one and two of one another. At least in concept, it sounds as if Blackfeather were trying to take a loud, often kind of heavy-rock music to a higher artistic level.
Blackfeather's "At The Mountains of Madness" is the best true hard psych record to come out of Australia during the 60s/70s. It features the remarkable talents of ALL the band members, but one John Robinson on guitar is absolutely astounding. John's guitar playing is so intense & his musical arrangements so precise on this record, that the record literally has an intoxicating "buzz" all it's own that you'll certainly not be building a tolerance to any time soon. At The Mountains of Madness possesses the magical characteristic of being a great memorable psych record from the turn of 1970.
