1972 ELF Ronnie James Dio EPIC KE 31789 Radio Station Promo Vinyl LP VG+/VG+ PITMAN PRESSING
After changing their name from The Electric Elves (1967) to The Elves (1968) to ELF (1972), the band played clubs, colleges & bars, looking for a record contract. Roger Glover & Ian Paice of Deep Purple happened to see them auditioning for Columbia Records in January 1972 and offered to produce an album for them. In April 1972 the band entered Studio One in Atlanta, Georgia to produce the band’s first of three LPs, simply titled ELF.
This is an Epic Records Radio Station Service labeled copy with Suggested Cuts & song timings. This copy comes from the estate of Jim Blake, the legendary Memphis music producer, promoter, collector & record store owner. Unlikely to have been played more than a time or two. Based on the P in the matrix, this is a more desirable 'Pitman Pressing' from the Pitman, New Jersey pressing plant which many audiophiles believe produced higher quality vinyl than other plants.
CONDITION: Without turntable access I am unable to play grade. Conservative visual grading of VG+/VG+ with minimal ring wear to the cover and super clean & flat vinyl. All photos are of the ACTUAL LP you will receive and are the best indicator of condition, but you will not be disappointed!
