Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. "Roll 'em Smoke 'em" is THEE Patto album...all you guitar players out there' get this if only for "Loud Green Song; IT WILL FLOOR YOU!!!! Ollie Halsal was one of those guitar players who died young and never got the recognition he deserved...PATTO: great playing..a great band ''with a wicked sense of humor!

Listening to Roll 'em Smoke'em, one may be amazed not to have realised earlier that that Mike's Flat-footed Woman in the opening track was, of course, a policewoman. [Flat-foot being a 19th century slang expression based on the perceived result of patrolling the streets].

One may also quickly notice the sheer magnificence of Singing the Blues on Reds [which would probably have been a better album title than the actual one, with its improbable number of commas and apostrophes].

This sheer cosmic fusion must rank amongst Ollie, Mike, John & Griff's finest achievements. Interestingly, the original US release flipped the first two tracks, presumably to promote the more commercial opener.

If Hold Your Fire was Patto's Revolver, then Roll 'em Smoke 'em is clearly the group's Sgt. Pepper. [Let a debate, similar to that regarding the Fabs albums, ensue concerning superiority.]

Whilst Roll 'em is not so heavy on the old wizzo guitar as Hold Your Fire, it does include the quite extraordinary Loud Green Song - widely considered the most insane piece of guitar playing ever comitted to vinyl and even cited as, possibly, the genesis of the wild-ass Punk scene. Elsewhere, I Got Rhythm and Peter Abraham, are beautifully understated fretboard gems.

It is probably fair to say that Mummy and, to a lesser extent, the Pythonesque [or, more accurately, Goon-esque] Sea Biscuits, are strong enough though pale to the above. Perhaps at least one of them might have been better substituted with Holy Toledo [a song from roughly the same period, preserved only as part of a BBC Radio 1 session].

What remains quite wonderful, however, is that: a) these items should have been conceived in the first place, and: b) they were actually included on the record - Contrast this with the climate just one year later, when Island Records wouldn't release the far more conventional follow-up Monkey's Bum at all.

CONDITION: The cover: is strong with tight sound seams, great appearance, M- TOP COPY near perfect, the white cover is snow white and going on 40 years old = having no split seams, no bends, no writing ...stiff and solid all over with bright colors....

The vinyl: positively minty clean, all glossy smooth, M- plays perfect and CLEAN Island labels makes this copy a winner....
