Description
Hello. Up for sale is 50 feet of 8mm Kodachrome home movies (no sound) shot in 1973. Excellent condition, no vinegar odor.
Please note that this film has never been copied or digitized. It is one-of-a-kind. Any rights I may have had as the previous owner I give to the winning bidder.
Also note that the images you see were shot off of a screen while the film was being projected. That’s why most are a bit fuzzy. All of the shots in this film are in perfect focus.
The film begins with John Mayall and the band performing on stage. Great shots of Mayall. In separate auctions I have 35mm slides taken at the same performance, and the date on those slides is April 1973. This may be the April 7th concert at the Santa Monica Civic Center. Also in 1973, the John Mayall LP “Ten Years Has Gone” was released, and the members of the band seen in this film (and on the slides) played on that release.
After the live performance footage, there are terrific shots taken backstage. Many shots of John along with other members of the band, family (?) and friends.
Next is footage shot at a beach. The hotel in the background might be a clue to the location. At one point John Mayall comes out of the water in a swimsuit and approaches the camera.
