Description
Here is a RARE album from my collection offered up for sale: The Grateful Dead's 1973 album "Wake Of The Flood" released by Grateful Dead Records GD-01 Stereo, a PROMO 1st pressing, has words embossed "Compliments of" at the top of cover (was put through a press as it is backwards on the back cover), has two promo stickers (came out 10/73), has song list taped to the back, cool!
The vinyl rates VG, is glossy and clean, has several faint sleeve marks, a few light marks and a couple small more moderate ones. This record has been PLAY TESTED and plays from start to finish with very good audio quality, some light pops but no skips or jumps, a very enjoyable listen!
The cover rates VG, front artwork has good color with minimal ring wear, all seams have light wear and splits that were neatly glued, has old tape/tape mark at bottom, binder edge not readable, no signatures or writing. (see all photos)
Note: This is their first album on their own label, after they were without distribution from any record company. They would soon let United Artists distribute the record as the task proved too difficult for the group. This is a RARE 1st press embossed cover promotional copy, probably distributed by the band members themselves! A pivotal piece of G.D. history here!! HOW MANY OF THESE BAND DISTRIBUTED PRESSINGS STILL EXIST???
Will be shipped in a protective plastic outer sleeve inside a secure record mailing box with tracking number. Vinyl will be shipped in paper sleeve outside cover to prevent cover splits.
