PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Original 1973 first pressing by a groovy-sound female duo, that at the time went right over the heads of music fans, many who would have otherwise dug into the platter offering breezy pop-craft perfection topped by trippy psychedelic lacings...Wendy & Bonnie come to mind in one aspect with HEAVEN & EARTH having more going for it instumentation wise, which means a lot. Here's the background action:::
Beautiful psychedelic folk by a female duo, featuring the gorgeous voices of Pat Gefell and Jo D. Andrew. This, their sole album was released in 1973. Very well-crafted folk, pop and psychedelic sound which should appeal to fans of Wendy & Bonnie, Linda Perhacs, Christine Harwood, Sunforest,....it manages to be both trippy and ethereal as well as groovy in parts at the same time. There are 3 or 4 real strong highlights here that rare as "great", specifically "Jenny," ...the dual female vocals go quite well with the instrumentation that is varied enough to keep things interesting. Also includes top level musicians that don't usually turn up for obscure backing duos of this type. For example, Phil Upchurch is on bass throughout. Too many LP's in this genre start off fine, but become a bit bit boring due to the sameness of the songs and sounds, but this LP avoids that pitfall.
At one time this was an album completely unknown outside of Chicago, where the short lived OVATION label was based; but these days, word gets around, and tracks like ‘Feel The Spirit’ and ‘Jenny’ have been making the rounds on the DJ circuit. No matter what your musical taste is—psych-folk, funk, soft rock—this LP seems to have something special to offer. This is due in part to notable backing from veterans like bassist Phil Upchurch (Curtis Mayfield, Otis Rush, Stan Getz, Groove Holmes, and Cannonball Adderly), and space age pop maven Bobby Christian on drums and percussion. But primarily, the perfection that this album emanates is due to the clear voices and intelligent songs crafted by Gefell and Andrews.
