1973 Black variant labels US Impulse AS 95 John Coltrane Ascension Version 2 (as preferred by Coltrane) in 1st type Gate Fold laminated Sleeve. I knew the guy in California who bought this new, I had most of his jazz collection off him, and he said this was not a swapped out record in to the older sleeve, it was the company using up their older stock sleeves with the newer pressings at the time, as he bought it brand new. Both he and I have looked after it, the vinyl is near mint and plays near mint, the sleeve has a corner ding, but no other damage. Black orange spine is clear and clean. Not one for the faint hearted, this is a deeply spiritual album, needing many repeat listens to sink in, but then, when the moment comes, it is like your eyes adjusting to low light, you hear a higher order. Only reason I am selling is I have the HMV which is also stereo and version 2.
