1974 American Top 40 AT40 Casey Kasem July 13 #743-2 - #1 Rock Your Baby Condition: as seen in photos - vinyl in excellent condition - some minor box repairs - CUE SHEET IS NOT ORIGINAL
#1 song that week is George McCrae's debut single 'Rock Your Baby' - LOTS of great information about that song: Written & produced by KC & The Sunshine Band's Harry Wayne Casey & Richard Finch A massive international hit, Rock Your Baby is credited as being one of the landmark recordings of early disco music. John Lennon said he would have given 'his eyeteeth' to have written the song, and used the chord progression in his single Whatever Gets You Thru The Night. ABBA's Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus say the song inspired the backing track for their 'Dancing Queen'.
McCrae wasn't the originally planned singer. He happened to be in the studio and added a vocal - they liked how it sounded and ran with it. One of the first songs to use a drum machine. KC & the Sunshine Band's Jerome Smith did the guitar work.
