One of an outstanding reviewers collection of Classical early stereo SXL ASD, SAX and test pressing rarities we have just had in, all nice clean originals, many played just the once. Add me to your favourite sellers list, as I will need a while to put these in.

1977 UK Decca Original labels for its year, SXL 6774 & 6775 Britten conducting the ECO in the Bach Brandenburg Concertos. Comes with the earliest laminated front & spine Sennol Press sleeves.
So why go for a non period instrument performance, when this one came along just as the movement was gathering pace?. A simple answer - Britten was one of the greatest conductors this nation ever had. His Bach is as glorious as his Mozart, and these are very fine readings indeed, with a chamber orchestra, the total opposite of the monstrosities that Karajan committed to vinyl. There is lightness and air here, as well as gravitas. I could live with these alongside my Linde and other sets.

Nice low 2W3W2W4W first year stampers showing this is mastered by the excellent Harry Fisher.
Records in Near Mint condition, no marks and very clean playing surfaces, Sleeves Near Mint . No splits or creases, no dirt or pen, just that one stamp mentioned. Labels are clean as seen in pics. Original decca inners excellent, the lack of signs of wear to this suggesting as do the lack of many spindle trails that this has not been played much in its 39 year life. A highly regarded top collectable late SXL set.
Heard throughout, this played near mint with the minimum amount of pops without even being cleaned.
