LYNYRD SKYNYRD
1977 STREET SURVIVORS
"FIRE COVER" LP
MCA 3029
(This is the famous last album for the original LYNYRD SKYNYRD band. Just days after this album was issued the band had a horrendous airplane crash. The crash killed singer/songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist - vocalist Steve Gaines, vocalist Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. The other band members were seriously injured. Allen Collins suffered cracked vetebrae in his neck, both Collins and Leon Wilkeson nearly had arms amputated as a result of crash injuries, and Gary Rossington broke both of his arms and both of his legs in the crash. Ironically the ones the flames appear to be touching on the front of the album lost their lives. The album cover was changed to a plain black back ground after the crash.)
The vinyl is in near mint condition (mint would mean perfect and there is no such thing as perfection) Sleeve is in near mint minus condition with a few wrinkles. The inserts are like new. The cover has a little rubbing on the edges, the back has slight ringwear which may disappear with a little waxing. Inside the perevious owner placed his initials on the upper left hand corner of the inside of the cover in what appears to be ink. (possibly alcohol or hair spray will remove this) This cover overall is BEAUTIFUL! Clean! with bright colors no fading, glossy!!. The front is in particularly good condition!!
This album is getting harder and harder to find especially in this condition! The pictures tell the story take the time to enlarge them this a FANTASTIC FIND!!!!
