Description
To this day, there's still some back and forth about which is the first rap record, "King Tim III" or "Rappers Delight". This record came out first. But most people think it's Rappers Delight. Rappers Delight was the record that set it off, it was so popular. I remember hearing Rappers Delight at the roller rink first. King Tim I heard after and for that reason I thought Rappers Delight came first. The problem was that the King Tim record kinda went un-noticed at first, it wasn't that popular (yet) and once Rappers Delight became a hit, people wanted more rap music, and that's when they discovered (or re-discovered) the King Tim record. But make no mistake, this record was the first rap record. It was sampled alot in the early days too.
