Description
Up for auction is the hard to find Bluesy Hard Rock LP "Degüello" by ZZ Top on Warner Brothers Records #HS 3361. This is the hard to find promotional copy (stamped on back in gold) that came with an extra outside cover only found with the promotional cover. Visually graded using Goldmine standards, the vinyl is a solid VG (borderline VG+) condition with beautiful shine and some light surface wear. The promo jacket is in VG condition with no splits but has some edge wear along all the edges. The glossy actual jacket is VG with one 2 1/2" split that is not very noticeable and light edge wear. The glossy inner sleeve is VG+. Overall a nice hard to find copy. Don't miss out! The record will be shipped in a sturdy record mailer with LP outside of the jacket in a protective sleeve to prevent damage during shipping. Low starting bid and no reserve.
Degüello is the sixth studio album by the American rock band ZZ Top, released in November 1979. "Degüello" means "decapitation" or, idiomatically, when something is said to be done "a degüello", it means "no quarter" (as in "no surrender to be given or accepted—a fight to the death") in Spanish. It was also the title of a Moorish-origin bugle call used by the Mexican Army at the Battle of the Alamo, Texas, in 1836. It was the first ZZ Top release on Warner Bros. Records and eventually went platinum.
Degüello was produced by Bill Ham, recorded and mixed by Terry Manning, and mastered by Bob Ludwig.
Original LP pressings of Degüello credited authorship of "Dust My Broom" to Elmore James. (This one has this since it is a promo copy)
