Description

We go to estate sales regularly and come across a wide array of unique and rare items.  We add to our growing online inventory daily.  We pick up new items from all over the world and all over the US.  We also have a growing customer wish list.  If you'd like to, feel free to add us to your saved seller's list and let us know what you collect and/or need.  We’d be honored to add you to our customer wish list.

We ask what we consider to be a fair price for anything we sell and understand that our idea of a fair price may be someone else's 'that's too much' price.  If that's the case, feel free to make us an offer and will consider it.  We also have sales regularly, so check back often.

There is always a Sale by TheBay!

We purchased a very large classical and jazz album collection from a former DJ for a local Atlanta area radio station, WBLJ in Dalton, GA, back in the 1950s-1970s awhile back.  We bought the collection for the jazz albums, but never got around to listing the classical albums.  Almost every album is a radio station promo and they are almost all in exceptional condition with jet black vinyl and many look like they could've been pressed yesterday.  We'll be listing them individually and in lots over the coming weeks since it will take awhile to list well over 1,000 albums.  If classical vinyl is your thing, feel free to add us to your favorite sellers list and check out our inventory as we add more as often as time permits.

Promo albums were among the very first albums to be pressed by the manufacturer, after test albums.  These albums were distributed to radio stations to play and promote the album prior to release for sale to consumers.  As most record aficionados know, the earlier the pressing, the better the sound quality.

Now onto the item for sale.

For sale is a copy of Man Parrish self-titled LP released by Importe/12 Records in the U.S. in 1982.

This album has MASTERING BY FRANKFORD WAYNE NEW YORK stamped into the matrices.  Next to each stamped is hand etched Herbie Jr and Herb's trademark smiley face.  Those obviously represent Herb Powers Jr. who was a legendary mastering engineer at Frankford/Wayne Mastering Labs.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not play test albums, as that would take us a lifetime to do for thousands of albums.  We give a visual description and estimated grade of the vinyl.  Please see the pictures above for an idea of the condition of the labels, sleeves and album cover or box, if a box set.  If there are any condition issues that you can't see, such as seam splits, scratches or spots on the vinyl, we will indicate that in the description.

The vinyl on the album is really clean with a few very light scratches on each side.  We'd estimate this album to be in excellent condition after a quick cleaning.

In addition to the scratches, there are some light prints, smudges and marks that we see sometimes on vinyl.  They will certainly come off with a proper cleaning, such as an ultrasonic cleaning.  There are plenty of sites online as well that show you how to properly clean vinyl without an ultrasonic cleaning machine.  This album will certainly clean up nicely after a proper cleaning.

The labels are very clean and in excellent to near mint condition, but unfortunately, a previous owner thought it would be a good idea to write his name on one of them

The sleeve is in excellent condition with no seam splits, but as you might have noticed, it's not the original sleeve since it is for an Atlantic album.

The cover is in excellent condition with no seam splits, but unfortunately, the same previous owner thought it would be a good idea to write his name near the top right corner in red ink.

This album will be shipped in a cardboard album box via media mail with the USPS.

Thanks for looking and God bless!
