1985 1st anywhere pressing German DG Digital Alexis Weissenberg in a selection by the pianist from the 500+Scarlatti Sonatas. One of two of his late DG solo recordings offered by me this week. I tend to hoover up lps of Scarlatti, as whatever I hear I find fascinating, and this one intrigued me because it seemed like an unlikely pairing in some ways, but as it turns out he is very much at home in the repertoire, as it suits his later introspection (and that he studied with Wanda Landowska). He points out in the notes that these are amongst the ten percent only of the works that suit the piano. The consideration pays off, it is a delight of a recital. Near mint record in an excellent sleeve, plays near mint. Not warped or off centre, no pen or dirt, no splits or creases, just a bit of flaking around the digital corner logo. Our ethos is to offer you best sounding mainly analogue pressings of vintage records (exampes such as this are notable exceptions where a proper lp master is made from the digital tape). We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water.
This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
