1985 Great Sounds Radio Show 4 Hr/4 LP (Buddy Rich, Sinatra, B Crosby, etc).
“The Great Sounds (Unistar July 26, 1985).” This is a 4-hour and 4 LP radio program hosted by Ray Otis featuring music of the 30s, 40s, 50s and newer with emphasis on music from the great American songbook. Each program features songs and interviews with a special guest, a segment on Frank Sinatra, and some programs highlight a specific year. In addition guest artists, etc. tell behind the scenes stories of the time. This week sees drummer Buddy Rich as the featured guest with 12 Rich related cuts and also appearances from Carmen McRae, Willie Nelson, Astrud Gilberto, and Freddy Martin. In total, each program usually features 40-50 cuts by artists and also included this week are: Frank Sinatra, Roy Clark, Tommy Dorsey, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Mel Torme, Benny Goodman, Vikki Carr, Louis Armstrong, Ink Spots, Glen Campbell and more. Includes cue sheets (includes written notes, underlines, etc from stations). Records are in strong VG+ to M-condition and cover is in G+ condition (has stain on cover (aee scan.) Postage will be paid by purchaser.
