Description
1989 NIRVANA 7-inch record JOHN PEEL SESSIONS Limited Edition 500 copies Kurdt Cobain, Chad Channing, Krist Novoselic, Fall of 1989, London, England Side A: Love Buzz, About A Girl Side B: Polly, Spank Thru Excellent condition, near mint vinyl, sleeve has light marks and indentation of the disc over time, just a little dust
"I Wish We Had A Drummer" written in the runout area, "NIR-001 A" and "NIR-001 B"
The record comes from an estate that included an extensive rock 'n roll collection with several other Nirvana 7-inch bootleg recordings like this one, as well as other Sub Pop singles issues, and original t-shirts of the grunge rock era.
At this time in the band's history, they were gaining some popularity but were not satisfied with Channing on the drums, and within a year Nirvana found Dave Grohl and the rest is history. The message engraved on the record seems like something Kurt Cobain would have been talking about in Fall of 89. Does this validate this record as one of the true original 500 pressings? I would like to think so.
The paper sleeve is plain, uncoated paper, the photo area of Kris and Kurt on top of the drums on the back shows half-tone dots, the rest of the artwork is solid black ink with no dots and the sleeve simply folds in half (it's not glued up together on the sides like a regular sleeve), the plastic sleeve it has been in shows plenty of age so again this points to perhaps this being one of the real 500, and with the plain black/grayish blank labels on the vinyl record itself.
It will be very-well packaged for safe arrival with tracking and insurance against loss or damage with Buyer's signature required for delivery.
