This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

WOW-this is THE earliest pressing I have EVER come across....You CANNOT get earlier pressings than a 1 MOTHERS coupled with the G STAMPERS....!!!

I have just finished listening to the whole album and was very happy to hear a superb sound reproduction. Just light background noise, with the occasional LIGHT pop/click in the quieter sections...More evident on side 4 as it is more instrumental and there are generally more marks to the 2nd disc.
Disc 1 provides a beautifull clear and rich audio reprosduction with very little backgoround noise.

NOTHING TO MAKE HER JUMP OR SKIP
I am using a Focus One deck, with an SMK arm, fitted with an Audiotechnica stylus.

Each played through without skips or jumps and both discs are as flat today as they were, when they were born-back in 1968! Each disc does carry some light marks and scuffs.

I have included some pictures for you to get an even better feel for the album.

The Labels:

 All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
There are light spindle marks to each label, these can be seen when angling towards the light....As you can see in the images provided-Side 3 has some hole wear.

It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold
The spine-which is very wide-remains strong and clear, with some light rubbing.
Superb cover-creamy white, with just a couple of spidering lines to the back and not the front of this gorgeously laminated cover.
Just some light discolouration.
SIMPLY LOVELY CONDITION

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of Stereo to the back top right.
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold, with just some light discolouration...Still opens with a crackle as if opening for the 1st time back in 1968!

AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

Excellent, wonderfully strong and undamaged Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold flipbacks....

Inners:

Original BLACK inners. They are both INCREDIBLY well looked after.
Just carry some very light feathering to their openings and a small nick to the windows-one has a tiny 2cm split to the bottom seem..they really are in SUPERB CONDITION.
They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each.
THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL-NOT REPRO!

They are all ORIGINAL.
They DO NOT have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall.

 Full size and with lyrics to the back.
She is all ORIGINAL, but does carry a 6cm split to the central fold and another 6cm split along the fold to one side. Nothing terrible and would not be visible when framed.
