Description
Rare first pressing jazz lp: MILES DAVIS - Kind of Blue - Columbia CS 8163, stereo, deep-groove 6-eye labels, and both misprints (see below); released in 1959.
Identifying points include: stamped runouts that end in "1AA", the absence of the letters "CBS" below the word "Columbia" on the labels; on the side 2 label, "Flamenco Sketches" is erroneously listed as the first track and "All Blues" the second track, with the error repeated on the back cover; and the mis-spelling of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley (spelled Adderly here) on both the front and back of the cover; also, the back cover has the number "6" printed at the lower right corner.
Condition is VG/VG++: moderate scuffing and several short marks that I can feel, that cause minor ticks, but overall it plays and sounds EX with some soft background and occasional minor ticks; clean labels; jacket is EX except for a kind of scrubbed look to the front cover, like maybe a slightly abrasive sponge was used on it or something; also some minimal rubbing to extremities, and a very small ink "8" to back cover margin; clean spine.
