You are bidding on 2 different 78 recordings of the legendary blues pioneer, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Both recorded and released on the famous Paramount label in 1927. Both of these records has an enlarged spindle hole (like the much earlier Standard or Diamond records from about 1910) Someone adapted for playing on a then much older phonograph machine. I'm sure with a bit of inventiveness someone could manufacture some sort of adaptor for playing on a regular size spindle. One of these records also has an edge to label unrepaired crack, probably repairable. I have not been able to play these at present and they are visually graded. The records are, Paramount 12493 A side, Hot Dogs, Blind Lemon Jefferson And His Feet, Guitar Acc. , stamped in shellac , 683 and 4578 3. B side, Weary Dogs Blues, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Piano and Guitar Acc. In shellac, 684 and 4517 4. The labels are bright and unfaded. Playing surfaces are visually very clean showing very little wear. This one would grade E- or E conservatively. This one record itself is a rare treat for collectors in this good of condition. Record 2 would be an added bonus! Record 2 is, Paramount 12454 A side, Rabbit Foot Blues, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Vocal Blues, Guitar Acc. In shellac, 497 and 3089 1. B side, Shuckin Sugar Blues, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Vocal Blues, Guitar Acc. In shellac, 498 and 3077 2. This is the cracked record and crack shows some flaking at beginning on B side and also 1 light probably unsounding scratch. I have included a photo of each side of the cracked record. A side has large area of pressure or heat damage, not sure how it would affect play. Otherwise clean labels and playing surfaces. Each of these records comes with original Paramount paper sleeves in good condition with nice graphics and lots of ads for other releases. These are extremely scarce records and with proper care will provide a great deal of enjoyment. Thanks for looking.
