2 Fred Netherton Wildwood Trio-Wildwood Playboys 45s 2 Different Labels
Fred Netherton is a country singer/guitarist from a small town in east-central Illinois, about 20 miles away from our Chesterville Antique Mall. He was quite probably the biggest name in county music in the area in the 50s and 60s, and his name was known to every country music fan.
Both of these records are used and both of them are original recordings. The only other Dixie recording currently on eBay is a reproduction, not an original.
You don't see Fred's records up for sale very often. If you collect rare records, this sale is for you.
And if you collect records, you probably have looked at the book values for the Wildwood Trio and Fred Netherton and the Wildwood Playboys, and they are high.
The Wildwood Trio featuring Fred Netherton
"The Wildwood Rock" / "Dear What About You" Label: (Dixie # 1)
We are rating the Dixie label as VG. "Wildwood Rock" plays great, but there is some surface noise at the beginning and in the trail off. There is a small sticker on the A side. "Dear What About You" has some more noticable surface noise since it is more of a ballad and the music is softer.

"I Can't Get It Off My Mind" / "Love Avenue" (with The Wildwood Playboys) Label: (Day Records #1040)
The Day label, unfortunately, is not real good. It has noticable surface noise and even some popping. But it plays all the way through on both sides, and we think these two records should stay together. So, bid on "Wildwood Rock" and consider the Day label our gift to you.
We feel we have started the bid at a very reasonable price of $19.95.
We have placed each of these records in a paper sleeve with an acid-free inner liner.
I don't know where you live, but it's fairly warm here in east-central Illinois right now. But it's going to get cold again very soon. If you are receiving these two records in an area where it's also very cold, it would be wise to leave the package unopened until the records have had a chance to warm to room temperature. The best thing to do is place them upright sandwiched between other records or books for probably 24 hours. Otherwise, you are at risk of having the records warp. Trust me. I learned this the hard way.
