2 GREEN LABEL RECORD CLUB LPS – “MEET THE BEATLES” & “YESTERDAY AND TODAY”
You’re bidding on 2 RECORD CLUB ALBUMS from THE BEATLES. According to Stanley Panenka’s great book “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES RECORD PRICE GUIDE,” the exact same pressings of these two albums in NEAR MINT condition would be worth a total of $600.00! … Here are the particulars:
TITLE: “MEET THE BEATLES ” (Capitol Record Club ST 8-2047 – Stereo)
COVER: RECORD CLUB PRESSING with BLACK SLASHES & Factory #16 on back.
LABELS: LIME GREEN RECORD CLUB PRESSING .
RECORD: MATRIX #’s Side One ST1 82047 W1 Side Two ST2 82047 W1
ALBUM CONDITIONS
RECORD ALBUM: (VG+) A really nice looking and sounding piece of vinyl.
Record: Play tested. No skips. There are some scuffs and light scratches here and there, but they don’t make much of a sound. The vinyl still retains some of it’s original luster. (SEE IMAGES.)
Labels: Both labels look great with just some minimal spindle defects. There are some initials on Side One. (SEE IMAGES.)
Sleeve: Comes in a new generic sleeve.
ALBUM COVER: (VG-) I had to do a good amount of taping on both seams and a little bit on the spine with Invisible Acid Free Tape. (SEE IMAGES.)
Front: There is some ring wear and a little scuffing on the front. (SEE IMAGES.)
Back: (#16 near RIAA symbol.) The mostly white rear cover shows a good bit of yellowing. (It’s strange how the front slick looks so much “whiter” than the cardboard jacket surrounding it and on the back. I have 8 other early pressing “Meet The Beatles” and none of them have this much of a difference in brightness. And that includes regular and Record Club pressings. ) There is also some minor ring wear. (SEE IMAGES.)
Seams: Both Seams have been taped along their entire length.
Spine: The spine has been taped 2 inches at the bottom. The Spine itself shows that yellowing we talked about, along with some missing pieces at both corners. (SEE IMAGES.)
