Description

This auction is for two John Lee Hooker 12” blues records, titled “John Lee Hooker and His Guitar” and “Live At The Café Au-Go-Go”. The first contains fifteen tracks “recorded 1949-51”, although my uncle, a blues aficionado to whom this album originally belonged, has written in pencil on the back cover “ Philadelphia 1952/3” as the place and time of the recording of five of the tracks. It features Hooker on vocals and guitar and Eddie Burns on harmonica. The second LP is a live album from August 1966, with only eight tracks but a formidable number of great blues names contributing, most famously John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Otis Spann. Both records are in excellent condition, great for blues and R&B collectors!
