Two Julie London albums from my collection offered up for sale: Julie has a beautiful sultry style of singing, fantastic! Great fun songs on this pair of records! Here are two of her vintage themed albums, one is an original pressing with maroon Long Playing labels, and the other is an early 1960 re-issue, both have vinyl that has been well loved but are still play-worthy 50+ year olds, still have decent covers!
First: Julie's 1959 album, "Your Number Please", this is an early 1960's Stereo pressing released by Liberty Records LST 7130 Stereo. The heavy weight record grades strong VG+, is super glossy and clean, has only a couple light marks and one small 1/4" long more moderate one, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays great from start to finish with excellent sound quality, a couple errant pops on side two song two, otherwise clear and quiet, minimal surface noise, no skips, no jumps! The early 1960's style labels are clean, no stickers or writing, minimal spindle wear! The cover rates strong EX, is super clean, has deep color, bright white, no stains, edges and corners EX and solid, no splits, no tape, only flaw is back has a "D" stamp, front has beautiful clean portrait of Julie, still has vintage printed inner sleeve, great vintage cover!
PLUS: Her 1956 album, "Calendar Girl", this is an original MONO 1st pressing released by Liberty Records SL 9002, with the 1956 style "Long Playing Microgroove" (mono) labels and the gatefold cover. The heavy rigid record grades VG/VG+, is clean and glossy, has many light marks, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays from start to finish with very good sound quality, only a few errant pops, clear sound with a bit of light surface noise, no skips or jumps, a very enjoyable listen! The cover rates VG+, is super clean, has deep color, bright white, no signatures or writing, no cut outs, only flaw is a bit of edge and corner wear and two seams had small splits neatly repaired with glue, no tape, beautiful clean portraits of Julie, great vintage cover! (see photos).
